DAG 1
9.00 a.m.: BREAKFAST & WELCOME

During a hearty breakfast you will be provided with information on the planned activities

10.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.: FAVOURITE FUSION TOUR (TAPAS LUNCH INCLUDED)

As an introduction to the city, we’ll take you on one of our guided walks, My Favourite Fusion, a combination of culture, cuisine, anecdotes, artists’ workshops and peculiar shops. On the way, you get to taste some of Spain’s best farmhouse cheeses and a range of tasty tapas.

3.00 p.m.- 6.00 p.m.: FREE

6.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.: FLAMENCO CLASS

Although the word flamenco might make you think more of Andalucia, it is also popular in Barcelona, since lots of immigrants from the south have moved here in recent decades. Since it will probably be your first time at this, we won’t torture you by making you learn the hardest steps,

but will stick to sevillanas, a popular (and easier) form of flamenco.

9.00 p.m. - 11.00 p.m.: DINNER AT ANGEL'S

An unforgettable dining experience to round off your first day. Welcome to Angel's: a combination of restaurant, opera house, living room and junk shop. You'll be served hearty portions of traditional food, copious amounts of alcohol and be treated to the wit and wisdom of your host, which will be sure to expand your vocabulary (in an interesting way)!

DAY 2

OPTIONAL MORNING PROGRAMME: CHOOSE FROM 2 POSSIBILITIES

OPTION 1: SAILING TRIP, MIN 6 – MAX 8

We'll take you for a sailing trip along the coast of Barcelona. You can either help sail the ship or sit back and relax. Either way, you’ll be served a variety of Spanish dishes and drinks.

Price per person: 65 euros (lunch included)

OPTION 2: MODERNISME (ART NOUVEAU) WALK – MIN 4

On this walk well have a closer look at the lesser known (yet still outstanding) modernista buildings in the Eixample, the area which was created around the 1900s. We kick off with a hearty breakfast in one of the oldest bars of this neighbourhood and give you an overview on how modernisme grew and how it reflected the Catalans’ search for identity.

Price per person: 25 euros (excluding breakfast)

2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.: LUNCHTIME (FREE)

4.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.: THE ”HABLE CON ELLA“ CHALLENGE

For this challenge, you will be divided in small groups, each of which will be given a map and a roadbook. It will be up to you to get to and from the various points on the way. On the way, you will be set a variety of tasks, the results of which we want to see on film. The most original creations are given a prize. When you successfully complete the task, you get told where to go next. Both speed and originality count in winning.

8.00 p.m.: FREE

DAY 3

9.00 a.m.: LEAVE FOR THE PENEDÈS DISTRICT

We’ll spend this day in the Penedes, a wine and cava producing district 40 km south of Barcelona. A minibus will be at our disposal.

10.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m.: COOKING DEMONSTRATION/ WINE & CAVA TASTING

We make our way to a charming country house, where you’ll be given an introduction to Catalan cuisine. Weather permitting, a giant paella or fideuà (a pasta “paella”) will be cooked outdoors. You’ll learn how to juggle with Spanish ingredients and cooking terms, and will be given the chance to help out the chef in the arduous task of filling your stomachs.

Afterwards, sit down to savour the results!

Naturally, given the district you will be in, you’ll also be given the chance to taste some of the local wines and cavas.

3.30 – 6.00 p.m.: GENTLE WALK TO MEDIONA CASTLE

After lunch, we drive to the village of San Quintí, the departure point for our walk to the hidden castle of Mediona. Once there, you will be regaled with all kinds of legends and anecdotes about this mysterious place.

6.00 p.m.: Return to Barcelona

7.00 p.m.: FREE

DAY 4

10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.: REMAKE OF A LATIN AMERICAN SOAP OPERA

Latin American soaps, which keep half of Spain glued to the TV after lunch, are renowned for their twisted plots, poor orphan peasant girls, overacting, big hair and hideous set designs. Surely you can do better. Split once more into groups, each with its own video camera, it will be your task to outdo the masters themselves. How many unlikely coincidences, doomed romances, evil millionaires and comic maids can you cram into one episode? The only limit is your imagination…

A beautiful private house crammed with antiques will be used as the backdrop for your first step on the road to TV stardom.

2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.: LUNCH AT A FISH RESTAURANT

3.PRICE 340 euros, including all activities (except for the morning activities on day 2), 1 breakfast, 3 lunches and 1 dinner, excluding accommodation.

4.ACCOMMODATION ACCOMMODATION CAN OPTIONALLY BE ARRANGED THROUGH US

Since we kick off on Thursday morning, most of you will be arriving on Wednesday, so you'll have to take into account a total of 4 nights.

We can offer you a number of charming places to stay: a room in a private flat, a B&B or a hostal. If you want something more private and prefer to cook for yourself, a flat might be more suitable. All these places are very central and comfortable.

If you're travelling on your own, please specify whether you want a room for yourself or you don’t mind sharing with another participant. Double rooms can be booked on a single occupancy basis as well.
