Thank you very much for dropping the recipes off for us – if only we had your market too! Thought you would like to know that we took your advice and went to Les Planes on Sunday for calcots! We didn't get there until about 4.15 as we'd been on the tour bus earlier! We had an interesting time to say the least.
When we arrived at the station the train door wouldn't open and we were forced to go on to the next stop! We had to get off and find our way back to Les Planes again! When we got there it was just as you said it would be — total madness!!! We somehow got a number to join the queue in the restaurant but they spoke as much English as we did Spanish! We ordered the calcots and some tomato bread but we didn't know that we had to do the bread ourselves! When we started nibbling on the dry bread the couple alongside us took pity on us and showed us what to do!! Duh!! Spot the tourists! It was good fun though!
The train back wasn't without drama either! A young couple were having a tearful argument which got worse and worse which ended when the guy collapsed on the floor! Les rushed to help but his lack of Spanish hindered his medical knowledge to say the least! He pulled the alarm handle to keep the train in the station and eventually help arrived to carry the guy off the train, along with his sobbing wife, baby, pushchair and puppy (which nearly fell onto the train line just to add to the drama!).

An interesting Sunday! Anyway, thanks for all your helpful information – we wouldn't have had such an interesting time without you!! We'll certainly pass on your details to anyone we know going to Barcelona! Good luck!

I just wanted to say that Helen and I had a brilliant tour of the Old City. We were really pleased with the whole thing, the tour, your guide, etc. It was like being shown around by a friend. We shall certainly recommend your tours in the future!

Hi Katrien, I just wanted to e–mail you to let you know how much we enjoyed our Culinery Tour last week– it and you were absolutely fab! I have already given your details to friends who are coming to Barcelona in June so hopefully you should get some more business.

I didn’t say anything at the time but we were very surprised when we met you because having seen the pictures of the two ladies on your web site we thought you were in your fifties!! We were glad to find that you weren’t!! Thought I would mention it in case other younger groups looking think its not for them because of this……

Could you let me have your postal address and then I can send you the chutney I promised…

If you do start doing cooking holidays/weekends etc please do let me know. its my turn to choose the location of our trip in 2009 for my 40th and I really fancy cooking and Salsa!
