walking tours |uptown barcelona

Are you something of an outdoor type? Do you enjoy a hike from time to time. Would you like to see Barcelona from a completely different perspective?

The first, slightly more physically-demanding option, begins in Sarrià, a neighbourhood which was previously a village and now forms part of Barcelona. Here the best patatas bravas in town will be served to you as an amuse-gueule for the tour. Afterwards, we will make our way to the ancient monastery of Pedralbes, where you will have the chance to admire the biggest cloister in Europe (optional). In Pedralbes district you will also have the opportunity to take a peek at where the city's elite make their home. Their luxury mansions lining the roadside will definitely not leave you unimpressed. After this healthy dosis of culture we indulge in the more greener side of Barcelona and follow the Carretera de les Aigües , an old road once used by the Water Company that runs along the Tibidabo hill and which provides amazing views over the city. Alternatively, for those of a more delicate disposition, a gentler tour starts directly on the Carretera de les Aigües and walks along it for around an hour and a half, offering the same great views and much of the same information. At the end of both tours, we drop you off at a hearty barbecue restaurant, where you can enjoy a traditional meal of char-grilled vegetables and meat.
